Who We Are:

As a member of the leading and largest organization of school resource officers in the nation, you will receive many benefits as a member of the Florida Association of School Resource Officers.

The Florida Association of School Resource Officers offers the most advanced and comprehensive training for its members in the state of Florida. As a FASRO member you will receive training at the annual conference as well as regional training during the year. If you would like to join the Florida Association of School Resource Officers and be a part of the largest state organization of SRO's, please complete our application.

FASRO's New 2016-2017 President Jimmy Finnell

Hello FASRO. I hope that this letter finds you all doing well. I wanted to take this opportunity to express my humble appreciation to be able to serve as your president this year. I would also like to congratulate our Executive Director, Tim Enos (Past President), F.A.S.A. Liason, Keith Hatcher, Treasurer, Doc McDonald, and Secretary, Gary Venuti on their appointments. I am looking forward to the upcoming year and the exciting things we have planned. Our annual FASRO conference is scheduled for July 9th-July 14th at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Palace in Orlando. We are sure to have a great time as always. I am looking forward to the classes we are putting together and hope you will all be able to attend. It is time to reunite with many of our friends from across the state, and the educational opportunities are second to none. I want to wish each of you a great and safe school year and I look forward to seeing each of you in July. If I can do anything for you in the meantime, please feel free to contact me.

2016 FASRO Agency of the Year: The Escambia County Sheriff's Office

I would also like to congratulate the 2017 FASRO Agency of the Year The Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Many thanks to the agency of the year committee for the outstanding and hard work in picking this year's agency. I appreciate all of the hard work that all of you have done to make our association the best in school police training. Keep up the great work, finish the school year strong and be safe. See everyone in July!!

S.R.O. Practitioner Application Update:

As the 2017 conference approaches it is time to get your S.R.O. Practitioner application completed and submitted. Take a few moments and review the application on the FASRO website.
Once you get the application completed have it signed by your training division. Copies of certificates of completion do not need to be attached.
Mail the application and $15 fee to:

S.R.O. Practitioners will be recognized during the conference. You will receive a certificate and pin.

What We Do:


Membership

Members of The Florida Association of School Resource Officers have dedicated their skills to protecting our schools and our children.

Training

Members receive instruction in juvenile law, counseling skills, development of a referral network, identification and ways to handle exceptional students, classroom training techniques, current trends in SRO programs, and other law-related education.

Scholarships

FASRO was founded in 1979 and began endowing educational scholarships for middle and high school students starting in 1988. During this time period, FASRO has awarded over $100,000.00 to our students to assist them in obtaining their goal of a college education.
